Most household furniture ends up in landfill not because it is broken, but because no one has connected it with the people who need it. SAOK exists to make that connection - quickly, locally, and at no cost to the families we serve.
We collect donated items from the public, local businesses, and community organisations across Wolverhampton. We store them, sort them, and deliver them to families who have fled domestic abuse and moved into empty social housing - often within 24 hours of a referral.
The result is a genuinely circular system: surplus becomes essential, waste becomes a home, and a family's crisis becomes a community's act of kindness.

Members of the public, local businesses, and community organisations donate furniture, clothing, kitchen goods, and household items that might otherwise be discarded.
Our volunteers collect items from across Wolverhampton and store them across two dedicated storage units, sorted and ready for rapid deployment.
A housing officer, social worker, or domestic abuse key worker contacts us on behalf of a family moving into empty social housing.
We match the family's needs to our stock and deliver everything they need - beds, bedding, kitchen goods, clothing - within 24 hours. Free of charge.
Many families we've helped go on to donate items back to SAOK once they no longer need them - closing the loop and helping the next family who needs us.
